Chapter Twelve

The next morning, I got up early and started breakfast. Reaching into the refrigerator, I slid Yaya’s sixteen ounce bottle of Coca Cola to the side that she had been using to mix her liquor. I got what I needed out and closed the door. With my hand still on the handle, I opened it back up.

A light bulb lit up in my head. I ran up to the bathroom and grabbed my Miralax, quickly returning to the kitchen. I took the bottle of Coke, opened it and poured some of the Miralax inside. Thinking of them having sex made me mad so I emptied the bottle into the soda with a big smirk on my face. As I was tightening the bottles I could hear footsteps coming down the stairs. I put the Coke back in the fridge but I couldn’t find a hiding spot for the Miralax so I hid it in the trash.

“Mommy, I’m hungry,” Zeta said, rubbing her eyes.

“Well, good because mommy made you chocolate chip pancakes.”

“Yaay!” She said, perking up immediately.

I made us a plate and sat down to eat. Minutes later, Yaya walked into the kitchen beaming like she was on her honeymoon.

“Good morning! What’s your name again?” she said with a sneer.

“Zsaset,” I said, returning the sneer.

She opened the refrigerator and grabbed her soda. Chugging it all up, she threw the bottle away and returned upstairs to get dressed. Oh shit, I didn’t know she was to drink the whole thing, I thought.

Not even an hour later, I heard a loud thump as I was trying to organize my clothing that O.B had thrown all over the place. It was Yaya literally falling into the bathroom, trying to get to the toilet. I grabbed a pillow and smothered my face into it.

“What you laughin’ at?” K-Dog asked, peeking from his bathroom. I kept laughing as the sounds of moans and groans came from the guest bathroom. I motioned for him to come here. K-Dog walked over to the door. When he heard Yaya screaming for dear life, he fell on the floor in laughter.

“What did you do?’ he whispered.

I leaned over and whispered back what I did. He started laughing even harder then. His eyes were tearing up by now because he couldn’t stand her evil ass either. We both fell into each other’s arms hysterically laughing. Our eyes met and for a moment I felt so connected to him I almost felt myself wanting to kiss him.

I jumped back, realizing that we could never cross that line.

Hours later, K-Dog and I were sitting on the couch watching Best Man Holiday movie when the scene of them finding out Mia had cancer was on. We both were so emotionally drawn into the movie we hadn’t even noticed the hateful glares we were getting from O.B and Yaya. I took my head and laid it on K-Dog’s chest and for a second it felt like our hearts were beating as one.

K-Dog was the kind of man I should’ve been with.
